SUMMARY OF POSITION

  • As a Logistics manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that logistical arrangements will assist the furtherance of Centromed’s South African operations.
  • In performing your duties, you will work closely with leadership and other key stakeholders, including customers, to fulfil the responsibilities and duties listed below.
  • This job may include other reasonable duties/tasks from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Logistics

  • Perform logistics optimisation to streamline processes and reduce cost.
  • Partner and communicate with branch managers, service providers and customers
  • Manage and develop logistics staff.
  • Review of planned delivery routes and planning delivery schedules of branches.
  • Co-ordinating logistical requirements between branches
  • Budgeting, Managing and Tracking delivery costs, from costs of third-party logistics providers to the costs incurred in running the Company’s fleet. Concluding and executing on the most efficient and cost-effective quote.
  • Managing the usage and maintenance of the Company’s fleet, reducing downtime of the fleet and ensuring minimal disruptions to
  • Liaising with third party logistics service providers to contract out the Company’s fleet.

 

General Responsibilities

  • Gather, interpret and analyse data from various sources
  • Participate in meetings with leadership and relevant stakeholders to explain reports, present findings and make recommendations
  • Act as liaison between sales, supply chain and financial departments
  • Related administrative tasks and Reporting to the Finance department

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Matric with High-grade Mathematics.
  • Experience working in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations or 2 years of appropriate accounting experience
  • Firm grasp of supply chain, distribution, business and management principles
  • Strong team player
  • Ability to manage, coach, and provide training for direct reports
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills
    • Excel – mandatory
    • Reporting
  • Detail-oriented with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and is aware of when to consult to achieve results.
